The Unseen Journey: Finding My Space on the Mat

In this episode, I open up about my personal journey from initially questioning the value of yoga to becoming a Black yogi and teacher. I address the struggles of feeling unwelcome in yoga spaces, and the profound impact yoga has had on my well-being—enhancing my self-worth, providing stability during stressful times, and aiding in navigating perimenopause. This narrative transcends yoga; it’s a testament to my quest for my rightful place in life.

But that’s not all. I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my new podcast, ‘Black on the Mat,’ a new podcast venture co-hosted with Saisha from Thick Thigh Yoga. This platform is dedicated to sharing the untold stories of what it means to be Black in the yoga industry. It’s a space for us to celebrate our journeys, confront the challenges, and change the narrative.

Tune in to hear more about my journey, a sneak peek into ‘Black on the Mat,’ and my upcoming event at the California Academy of Science in San Francisco.
